Long Time no Blog

I'm back. Not much new to tell... hence the long time since blogging. It's officially winter here. No snow yet - but VERY cold temps.

My wise friend Christine said to me this week "The only way one can live in NYC is to take lot's of vacations". Oh how true that is. You don't even realize it but you become accustomed to the hectic, rushed, crazed lifestyle and one day you feel like you're going to PoP! We're all in need of a "winter break". Considering going somewhere warm next month....

I rearranged the kids room (and did some redecorating too - pics coming soon). In order for me to stay happy in this small space - I must constantly have a "project".

My Girls Night Out this month is a trip to the Opera next Wednesday night. I'll definitely report back.

Lastly, and most importantly, Macy is Pottytrained!! She was so easy (thanks to the Kerri Morris/Dr. Phil method). Only took her 3 days to get it down pat. I'm THRILLED to not have to change diapers anymore!! Here's the challenge... finding a potty in the City - not an easy task!

A couple things...

Another favorite of 2006... can't believe I forgot to mention it - East Natural Therapy. It's a walk-in massage place specializing in foot and back rubs! 30 minutes for $28... THE BEST MASSAGE EVER!

Holiday Tipping. STRESSFULL!
How much is not enough? How much is too much? Do you tip every single person who works in the building? Last year we were only here a month before "the letter" arrived telling us the names of all the people who "serve us throughout the year". This year, unfortunately, we weren't able to prorate. We decided to tip only those whom we could actually attach a face with a name. And even that added up to $500.
Already feeling the snubs, which I expected. But who do they think we are - The Trumps?

Weekly babysitter:
Erin, our one-day-a-week and sometimes one night too, babysitter is such a huge Blessing! Great decision for daddy to agree to this set-up. Mommy is much happier with a few hours off every week!

Yoga! The perfect antidote for living in 'the City'!
Joined a gym this week. $79 a month (plus all the dumb sign-up fees). It's only a block from my house and has babysitting ($4/hour per kid). Went to yoga last night... I had forgotten how much I loved it!

2007 - The year of healthy living!
As I learned in 2006: "a bagel a day brings 10 pounds your way"
I vow to only allow myself one (whole wheat) bagel a week.
