To Gettysburg!

We made the trip to Gettysburg last weekend to see "cousin Robbie" play football. It was a beautiful drive, a great game, and terrific sight-seeing in the historic town! Griffin was in awe of "cousin Robbie" as he watched him playing. Amazingly - the kids sat and watched the entire game! Robbie's a senior and plays on the defensive line - we were lucky to get to see one if his last home games. The campus is absolutely beautiful - our trip was timed perfectly with the beautiful foliage. "Big Robbie" gave us a tour of the battlefields and some interesting tidbits of history. Everything is preserved just the way it was during the Civil War. Did you know that if you ever see a statue of a soldier on a horse you can tell if he (the soldier) died during the war? If the horse has all four legs on the ground - he survived the war. If the horse has one leg up - he was wounded in the war. If the horse has two legs in the air - the soldier did not survive the war. The tour was filled with fascinating information! Who knew I enjoyed History?? Attaching a picture of the battlefields, the trainstation where Lincoln came in to deliver the Gettysburg Address, and a picture with Robbie after the game.

Apple Picking

Went apple picking last weekend with some girls from church. We went to Warwick, NY - about an hour north of the city. Amazing time of year to go... the leaves and mountains were absolutely beautiful. Needless to say - we came home with more apples than we could ever eat!

7 Years!

Yesterday we celebrated our 7th anniversary. Chris pampered me with a gift certificate to my favorite boutique, AND dinner at our favorite restaurant (Canyon Road), AND tickets to a Broadway Show. He's a keeper!!

We saw Avenue Q-- a very funny (although a bit racey) puppet show!

I got Chris an indoor grill. A definite necessity... we're lost without our ability to "grill out". Hopefully we can put it to good use (assuming we can find a place to put it)!

It was a great night.
