Tales of the Renovation

So the thought of renovating 'this old house' was a great idea at the time! However - we ran into multiple obsticles along the way (many of which should have been caught by the inspector before we closed - but that would have been way too easy).
In the last few weeks (in addition to lot's and lot's of sawdust) we've encountered a leaky roof, flooding basement, cracking pipe, leaking toilet, oil tank drama (more on this later), boiler chimney collapse & replace, and so much other craziness! Our "great deal" has somehow turned into a money pit.
On the upside... we ADORE our neighborhood and neighbors (almost as much as our Plano neighbors)! All of the kids play in the street together every single day - riding bikes, scooters, playing ball, etc. It really is a cozy little neighborhood with so much character....
The kids both LOVE school... they adapt so easily. Griffin started soccer a couple weeks ago (he plays next to the marina - it's picturesque). Macy's in ballet and of course, is eating it up!
I'm meeting nice people everyday and really starting to settle into this new life. Chris says "We're never moving again"... but who knows. Once we get this house in shape - we'll probably be ready for another challenge!
We're only 20 minutes outside of the City - so there's still lot's of great reasons to come visit us!!
More pics to come....
